Playdate with Leah!

This week has been somewhat eventful! Earlier this week, Tim and I were hanging out downstairs, and I had put Noel down on her back on the activity mat. I looked up for a few minutes, then looked down and she had flipped over onto her tummy! That was a first, and I completely missed it!

We tried to get her to do it again, but it was all for naught! She tries and tries, but she can't figure out that she needs to pull her arm up in order to roll over!

Today I went over to Megan's house for Noel's first official "playdate". :) For those of you that don't know, Megan and I were roomies our sophomore year at VT. We both lived in Blacksburg, and then she moved to Louisa County for her husband Kris' job, and then a year later, Tim and I moved to the C'ville area too. We were pregnant at the same time last year, and she had Leah 3 weeks before Noel was born!

Her 4 month appointment is next Friday, which I'm half way looking forward to, and half way not. They really load them up with vaccines, and I think it hurts me more than it hurts her when she gets 2 shots in each leg :(

I'm eager to start solids, but don't want to yet because of the risk of her developing food allergies. I'll have to ask the doctor about when she thinks Noel should start. I'm thinking between 5-6 months. She seems interested in our food already.

Leah and Noel aren't really of "age" to be "playing" yet, but it was fun to see them together, and it gave me an excuse to see Megan :) Hannah (Leah's big sister!) was talking and smiling at Noel and Noel was smiling SO big and talking to her. She even reached her arms out and touched Hannah's face. It was really sweet, but unfortunately I didn't snap any pictures of it.

Anyway, here are some pictures from this morning, and Noel's first playdate!

Good morning, sunshine!

Nice hairdo!

I love that Noel is cross-eyed in this pic :)

Hannah LOVES cameras - she wanted to take pictures too!

was only a short amount of time that they were
both awake!)

Look at those chubby cheeks!

Noel & Daddy

Noel is doing great this week - for some reason she sleeps SUPER WELL at Holly's house. She's learning to fall asleep on her own, which is great...but she still wakes up a lot, so sleep is in short supply. I long for the days when she will sleep through the night on a regular basis. I guess by then we'll have other issues though :) Oh well!

She's in a great mood when she gets good naps in during the day, though! Wish I could figure out how to get her to take good naps like that at home.

Oh, and this morning I had to move her straps on her carseat up to the higher level. I can't believe how tiny she was when we brought her home from the hospital. Time flies!!

Anyway, we were playing with her this evening, and I caught this on video...So sweet!

Inauguration day

Inauguration day came and went, but not without Noel having something to say about it! LOL

Here is what Noel had to say!

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa

Mom and Dad came up this week to look after Noel...it turns out that our babysitter gets every major (and minor) holiday off. We're fortunate that we have them though, because otherwise I don't know what we'd do!
They came up on Sunday afternoon, and we had a few hours to just hang out before it was time for Noel's bedtime. Noel had gotten to a point where she was sleeping pretty solidly...she was sleeping 3 or 4 hours at a time, and once she actually slept 7 hours without waking. I thought things were getting better, but somehow she has regressed! Last night she woke up 3 times between 9 and 12. After spending an hour trying to get her back in her bed, sleeping, I ended up bringing her back to bed with me. She just flails all night long!
I've read a lot about sleep solutions, and I'm not exactly sure what is right, what is wrong, or how I'm supposed to "train" her to sleep through the night. I think the solution is unique to your baby, and I'm just confused at how to "fix" it. I'm just trying to take it one day a time, and remind myself that this is only a phase. Noel's babysitter "Miss Holly" keeps giving her gifts...she has given her two hats, a sleeper, and a stuffed animal so far (and it's only been 2.5 weeks). I had to take some pictures of her...the hat is just tooo cute :)

She's a frontier woman now!

"Hmmm...now how can I get this in my mouth?"

Trip to see April & Josh

Noel and I headed out yesterday morning to visit April!

We shopped a bit, ate some Thai food, and just hung out for the day!

Noel was a bit fussy at the thai restaurant, so I sat her on my lap. I was talking to April, and the next thing I knew, she had grabbed my bowl of soup and pulled it right in our laps! It's a good thing it didn't stain, and most importantly...that it wasn't that hot! I've never had to worry about that before though...I'll have to keep my eye on her little hands!

Here are some pictures from yesterday

Achoooo!

Not really sure what Noel was doing in this one...Hahahaha

And one from this morning:
