Fruit Salad...Yummy yummy

I'm sorry for the LONG hiatus - I have been very busy lately with moving, unpacking, and organizing.

A few weeks ago Noel and I went to the beach while Tim stayed here and worked on the house to get it in shape before we moved. I'll be sure to make a post with all of our beach pictures.

But in the meantime, I wanted to share a recipe for a very simple yet very yummy fruit salad. While we were at the beach, Dana made it for all of us - and Noel loved it! There is a Wiggles song called "Fruit Salad", so I started singing "Fruit Salad...yummy yummy" - now Noel just calls it "Yummy yummy".

I made some last night and took a few pictures of the process.Add any fruit you want - I used Bananas, Blueberries, Strawberries, and Grapes.

Don't tell Noel...I added some shredded carrots!

Add some Tang - I fill it up to the first line inside the cap.

Voila! The tang mixes with the fruit juices.

New Car!

After agonizing over this decision (about WHICH car to buy), I was almost to the point where I was just going to stop looking so hard, and wait until an opportunity presented itself.

But on my way over to Tami's house this morning, just that happened. I passed a Hyundai Tucson sitting on the side of the road with a "For Sale" sign in the front window. So after my exams, I stopped by to take a look.

The woman that was selling it said that her husband had only had it for 4 days. He had driven it twice and didn't like it. Apparently it was a spontaneous buy...but it had 6600 miles on it. 6600 miles! It's a 2006 Hyundai Tucson and is in pristine condition. I knew I would not find another used car in nearly as good of shape. This one is the right size, gets relatively good gas mileage for an SUV, is reliable, and 6600 miles...!!!!!

I ended up spending a little more than I had wanted to, but I could not pass it up! I can't wait to take it out tomorrow! :)

"Caiiii"!

Noel has shown a lot of interest in the TV lately.

She won't watch any channel but the "Sprout" channel, which is actually kind of good because it's one of my favorites too (for children's programming). Some of Noel's favorites include "Dragon Tales" and "Caillou".

Since Noel can't pronounce "Cai-you", she just says "Cai!" and then she'll groove around to the music. Tonight we were in the middle of her bedtime routine, and she ran in to watch the intro to Caillou! I HAVE to get her dancing on video tomorrow because it's HILARIOUS! These photos do not do it justice!

"It's Caiii!"

Homeowners

Tim and I finally closed on our house yesterday, April 30th, 2010!

There were a few unexpected (and unwelcome!) changes ON closing day, so it wasn't the most pleasant experience speaking with the mortgage broker. It turns out that a survey had been ordered and COMPLETED 8 days prior, without our consent or knowledge. We had been assured we wouldn't need a survey...

BUT, it is ours, and we can now do with it what we want. First on our list is mold remediation, removal of the bedroom carpets, and painting of the bedroom walls.

I'm planning on picking up our paint tomorrow, and mom and dad are coming up next weekend to help.
