Children's Museum Trip

Today Noel and I met up with Allison and Ronan. It's been a very long time since we've both gotten together and let the kids play.

Since we've been stuck indoors a LOT lately, making Noel very fussy and grumpy most of the time, we decided to meet up at the Children's museum in Short Pump.

As you can tell from the pictures, Noel had a blast! I think she loved the train most of all, but it was a big ordeal after the ride was over...she couldn't understand why she had to get off. After several minutes and a sucker, she was fine and resumed playing on the big slide.

They also had an arts and crafts center, where you could make several crafts, and paint or color. Noel loved the painting the best.

After we were through at the museum (which it was tough to convince her that we needed to eat, even though she was STARVING), we drove over to Chick-fil-a. Noel fed Ronan some fruit and chicken nuggets and then we played some more on the indoor jungle gym.

We had a great time today, but I am definitely beat. I'm guessing Noel is too, because she's still sleeping now, at almost 6 pm :)

Noel liked the purple fish the "best"

A Big Bed for a Big Girl

Noel recently transitioned into a big girl bed. We've been preparing for it for months. What quilt? What sheets? What bed? We've also been trying to prep her for it...getting her excited for this monumental switch.

I bought most of the bedding over Christmas during one of Kohl's huge sales. I found a jersey knit sheet set for...$11.99! Can't beat that. I found the pictured snowman sheets at Target.

For a long time we contemplated building her bed ourselves, but we eventually decided on the bed shown. We have a lot going on right now (don't we always though??) and thought it would be easier given our schedules.

We received it on the 3rd, and the bed rail on the 5th. We were both nervous about how this would affect her sleeping habits. She is a GREAT sleeper and I don't really miss the sleepless nights all that much ;-)

Anyway, after about an hour of mumbling to herself and settling, she fell asleep. And she slept all night. AWESOME!

She plays with her babies in her bed, checking their heartbeats and eyes with her new doctor set. She LOVES it! And I love it because it gives her room extra storage space in the drawers at the bottom.

Mom is currently working on a quilt that will match her toy box seat cushion and valance. It can't wait to see her room all put together!
